This lovely bistro and cafe in downtown Lake Bluff, Illinois is a collaboration between Mike Wales, a Kendall Culinary School graduate with years of kitchen and food service management experience, and Ron Hirasawa, an instructor at the Lake Forest Graduate School of Management. The moderately priced menu (nothing over $21), overseen by chef Ben Walanka, features American comfort standards, with a dash of French bistro. You'll find classics like a chicken pot pie ($9), but also a croque monsieur ($8). A side cafe is open for morning coffee and pastries as well as for light lunch options. Look for an expanded menu soon.
